#56

Rukmini Devi was nominated as a member of the Indian Parliament's Council of States, the Rajya Sabha in April 1952 and re-nominated in 1956.In 1977, Morarji Desai offered to nominate her for the post of President of India, which she turned down. Here are few questions related to Rukmini Devi and Morarji Desai:

1.) There are only two people who have this rare achievement, namely Morarji Desai and Nelson Mandela. Morarji Desai achieved this in 1991 and Mandela in 1992. Yusuf Khan the legendary actor, has already got one-half of this(only the second Indian after Mr. Desai to receive this honor) and he may join these eminent personalities in future, this depends on the Government of our country. What is this achievement or honor?

(Clue:- CWC - 30 March, 2011)

2.) Rukmini Devi and Morarji Desai along with Pope Paul II, John Holland, Al Rosen, Adam Sinclair and many others, have something in common. This can't be considered as an achievement as no hard work or good deeds are required for it. Many more will join them next year i.e. in 2012. What is common or let's say same for these people?
